Flavour Makers Accelerates Trans-Tasman Expansion
Flavour Makers Accelerates Trans-Tasman Expansion with Strategic Acquisition of New Zealand Foodservice Leader Groenz
MELBOURNE, Australia, 6 August 2026
Flavour Makers, Australia’s pioneering food manufacturing and product development partner, today announced the acquisition of New Zealand-based foodservice sauces and condiments manufacturer Groenz. The acquisition marks Flavour Makers’ first major operational expansion outside of Australia and establishes the foundational base for regional presence.
The strategic move adds a highly capable Wellington facility along with offices in Auckland to the Flavour Makers network, bringing a dedicated team of 90 employees, a robust portfolio of 165 SKUs, and a prestigious BRCGS AA+ quality certification.
Recognising the immense trust the foodservice industry places in Groenz’s portfolio, Flavour Makers has confirmed that the popular "Frenchmaid" brand and full Groenz portfolio, will continue operating exactly as it does today. With a rich history of inspiring hospitality professionals and chefs with highly versatile sauces and condiments, the brands will remain uninterrupted, with Flavour Makers intending to build upon this already successful foundation.
Adrian Cester, Founder of Flavour Makers, highlights the significance of the move:
"This is first our operation outside Australia, and it's a deliberate move. Groenz brings around 90 people, 165 SKUs, and a BRCGS AA+ quality certification, a business built on exactly the kind of products and standards we value here. It gives us a real foundation to grow into foodservice more broadly across the New Zealand and Australian markets."
Over time, the this newly established acquisition will enable Groenz to leverage Flavour Makers end to end manufacturing and culinary capabilities to extend a broader, chef driven offering to the Australian and New Zealand foodservice markets.
To customers and supply partners on both sides of the Tasman, the message is one of absolute stability. The acquisition is focused strictly on additive growth, meaning it remains "business as usual" across all existing Flavour Makers and Groenz sites with no disruption to day-to-day manufacturing or delivery schedules.
